Ohio Senate Bill 48 - Hearing Impairments

To create a special license plate for hearing-impaired individuals and to require the Registrar to include an identifying symbol on a driver's license, commercial driver's license, or state-issued identification card of a hearing-impaired individual, if requested.

SUMMARY:

  • Creates a special license plate that persons with hearing impairments may voluntarily request
  • Allows persons with a hearing impairment to request an identifying symbol by on the person's driver's license
  • Requires signed statement by a person's personal physician certifying a person has a hearing impairment
