Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month Kick-off held at the Statehouse
Hundreds of people with disabilities, family members, and others gathered at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium today to kick-off March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. This year's theme is "Our Community is Better Together" and people with disabilities, as well as representatives from state agencies and organizations spoke about the importance of supporting opportunities for people with disabilities to be an active part of their community. Several organizations, including the Ohio Legal Rights Service, provided display tables to share information about the services they provide.
The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and Ohio Public Images sponsored the kick-off celebration. Visit the Ohio Public Images website to order or download materials to promote Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in your community.
