Representatives from LRS presented at The Arc of Ohio's annual legislative advocacy training event on the rights of people with disabilities related to funding level assessments under the Individual Options (IO) waiver, eligibility for services through a county board of developmental disabilities, and natural supports. More specifically, Ohio Eligibility Determination Instrument (OEDI), Children's Ohio Eligibility Determination Instrument (COEDI), the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Profile, Individual Service Plan (ISP) process, and the prior authorization process were covered during the presentation.

Another topic covered by LRS was the current reliance on institutional care and the difficulties experienced by people with developmental disabilities to obtain the services they need to live in the community, particularly enrollment on the IO waiver which has long and slow waiting lists. Materials related to the presentation soon will be posted to the LRS website.
