Are you currently on a waiting list for waiver services? DRO would like to talk to you.

December 16, 2015 / developmental disabilities

More than a year ago, the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council and the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center published a study that analyzed waiting lists for home and community-based waiver programs in Ohio's developmental disabilities system (the Individual Options waiver, for example). As of June 2013, more than 40,000 people with developmental disabilities were on waiting lists across the state. Disability Rights Ohio wants to learn more about people who are on these waiting lists and the situations they are in.

We are looking to talk to people who:

  • Are adults
  • Are not currently enrolled in a waiver program
  • Are on a waiting list to get waiver services
  • Have an unmet need that would be served in a waiver program or may need those services in the future (for instance, if they have an aging caregiver)

If you or someone you know fits all of those qualifications, please call Disability Rights Ohio at 800-282-9181 and select option 2 for the Intake Department.
