Disability Rights Ohio one of several groups awarded grant funding to help public navigate insurance exchanges

August 16, 2013

Disability Rights Ohio is one of several organizations across the state to be awarded part of a $3 million federal "navigator" grant that will help people navigate the new health insurance exchanges. Other organizations on the grant include the Ohio Association of Foodbanks, Asian Services in Action, Heart of Ohio Family Health Center, the Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio Association of Free Clinics.

According to Ben Sutherly at the Columbus Dispatch:

In Ohio, the navigators will bear much of the responsibility for getting the word out about the online health-insurance exchanges, which will be run by the federal government. The state Department of Insurance said it will leave marketing and advertising of the health-care exchanges to the federal government.
