Helping Veterans with Disabilities
Disability Rights Ohio provides legal help to service members and veterans and their family members with disabilities, such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and physical and mental health disabilities.
How We Can Help
At Disability Rights Ohio, our mission is to protect and advocate for the human, civil and legal rights of people with disabilities. We work in partnership with people with disabilities and enforce laws that make true integration into the community a reality.
Do you want to attend college and need help getting accommodations for your disability?
We can help you get assistance like preferential seating, use of a tape recorder, note takers, and more, to help you succeed in college.
Do you need help getting a job or accommodations at your present job?
We can help you get services like job counseling, job training, special equipment, and more, to help you get or keep a job.
Does your disability prevent you from accessing services in your community?
Most buildings and communities must be accessible to people with disabilities. We can help you get necessary accommodations or changes in policy so you can access your community.
Are you having problems finding or keeping a place to live because of your disability?
We can help if you are denied housing or are having trouble staying in or making changes to your current apartment because of your disability.
Does your child with a disability need help in school?
We can help get special teaching, physical, occupational, and speech therapies, transportation and more for your child with a disability.
Do you need more help or services because of your disability?
Services and support are available in your community. You may be eligible for Medicaid, in-home nursing and aide services and home modifications.
Have you been abused or neglected due to your disability?
We investigate and resolve complaints about abuse and neglect. If you or someone you know has experienced abuse or neglect, call us.

If you think that your legal rights have been violated because of a disability, Disability Rights Ohio may be able to help. If you are not sure whether we can help, contact us anyway. If we can’t help, we’ll try to connect you to someone who can. Disability Rights Ohio does not charge its clients for services.
