Action Alert: The House votes on health care TODAY. Call NOW.

May 4, 2017 / ACA

Call your representatives NOW to urge them to vote against cuts in Medicaid and health care for people with disabilities.

The U.S. House is expected to vote on the American Health Care Act (AHCA) today. Though they are rushing it through before the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) can score it, we know that it's more extreme than the previous version, which the CBO said would have left 24 million Americans uninsured. The recent amendment allowing states to waive coverage for pre-existing conditions will likely raise that number. Medicaid faces an $800 billion cut, which will lead to cuts in services for people with disabilities.

Need talking points? When you call, tell your elected member of the House of Representatives to vote:

NO because the AHCA caps and cuts Medicaid, harming people with disabilities, including children

NO because the AHCA allows states to waive protections for people with pre-existing conditions

NO because the AHCA will end Medicaid expansion

NO because the AHCA will leave AT LEAST 24 million people without health care coverage
