Lead. Inform. Inspire

Disability Rights Ohio is led by a Board of Directors, made up of individuals with disabilities, family members of individuals with disabilities, and professionals. This group is crucial to the mission, vision, and operation of DRO. The Board is responsible for setting DRO’s strategic plan and advocacy goals while also providing oversight, ensuring DRO operates with the highest integrity.

Broadening our perspectives.

Our organization recently underwent a diversity review and planning process for our Board of Directors. This process resulted in the creation of Board Diversity Plan – a blueprint to guide us towards a more inclusive, diverse Board of Directors. This plan calls for the inclusion of perspectives representing Ohio’s range of geography, ethnic and racial backgrounds, socioeconomic status, variety of disability experiences and types, LGBTQIA+ community experience, diverse gender identities, and lived experience in an institutional or incarcerated setting. This diversity will ensure that DRO recognizes and can better meet the needs of all Ohioans with disabilities, including those who are most disconnected from the disability service system and may not know about DRO.

Your experience, our mission.

We are currently seeking qualified applicants to join our Board of Directors. If you are interested joining this group and working to bring the DRO vision of Voices Elevated. People Empowered. Equity Achieved. to life, please contact communications@disabilityrightsohio.org to request a copy of our application materials.
