#AdvocacyMatters: Informed by You

April 10, 2026 / #AdvocacyMatters

Our work is at its best when it’s rooted in the real, lived experiences of people with disabilities all across Ohio. With meaningful feedback and a diverse range of perspectives, we can better address the needs of the communities we serve.

Every spring we publish a survey to collect the experiences, stories, and perspectives that will inform, improve, and shape our work in the coming year. This survey covers a broad range of topics, including education issues, access to voting and civil participation, abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and access to home and community-based services.

Aimed at making our work as meaningful and impactful as possible, our survey actually consists of two separate efforts: The general public survey shared across all our platforms, and a separate, specific survey for folks living in facilities across the state.

Once the survey period is complete, the information is analyzed for common themes and similar experiences. This data is then used to shape our Goals and Objectives – an outline of our work for the following year.

This year’s survey will launch next Monday, April 13th, and we’d love your help in sharing and amplifying it to as many individuals, groups, and communities. The survey will be available in multiple formats, like Survey Monkey, fillable PDF, and printable paper copies to be filled in and returned, and it will again be available in multiple languages.

Please watch for an email or social media post next Monday to launch this year’s survey.
Your feedback, support, and amplification will make a lasting impact on our work.
