#AdvocacyMatters: Reaching Our Community

March 13, 2026 / #AdvocacyMatters

Our resources, our expertise, and our advocacy are most effective when they reach those who need them most. While we always try to provide updates via our website, newsletters, and social media, live and face-to-face interactions can do so much more. Our team is made up of dedicated experts with a wealth of knowledge and decades of experience.

Earlier this week, we launched our new Outreach Request Form… a quick and easy online tool to help organizations invite DRO to provide training, participate in webinars and panel discussions, and table upcoming events. Despite being a small team of less than 50 individuals, we work to stay active in outreach activities all across the state.

Our Education and Client Assistance Program experts have been engaged in regular events for several years. Members of our Board of Directors have recently attended resource fairs and advocacy days, and tomorrow our team and board are collaborating to attend a community event in Licking County. This summer, several DRO representatives will be working with the Dayton Public Library as part of a Disability Symposium. More information on that to come!

“Face-to-face, live connections are often the most effective way to meet the communities we serve,” remarked DRO President & CEO Kerstin Sjoberg. “We hope this new tool streamlines this process in a way that helps us broaden and diversify our outreach activities.”
